Sennheiser

Sennheiser wireless system receivers in a rack with microphones and a phone app

Sennheiser is a German manufacturer of electro-acoustic solutions with more than 75 years of heritage. Its equipment is divided into segments that include, among others, simultaneous interpretation equipment and complete discussion systems.

The brand's range is aimed mainly at business clients and integrators looking for AV equipment, sound systems and discussion systems designed for large-scale events, recording and TV studios, conference and congress halls, and university auditoriums. The portfolio does, however, also include individual products for private customers: microphones, wireless headphones and even central units for controlling sound systems.

In our projects, we recommend Sennheiser equipment to clients who want a degree of freedom in selecting individual devices for the discussion system being built. The client can choose, for example, wired or wireless devices, mounted on conference tables, on the ceiling or handheld. We also know that many clients would like to manage many aspects of how individual solutions work. That is why Sennheiser is an excellent choice. Products such as ceiling microphones make it possible to set unwanted-noise reduction parameters or define a priority zone.

It is also worth highlighting that Sennheiser products come with numerous features that make it easier to manage the course of a discussion. Central units can be expanded to support as many as several hundred units, table microphones can be charged in transport cases, and discussion management software lets the chairperson create meeting agendas and display them on large-format screens.

Ceiling microphones – Sennheiser’s range includes innovative ceiling microphones designed for the corporate and education markets: for offices, conference rooms and lecture halls. These devices are supported by advanced algorithms that control exclusion zones, i.e. areas from which the microphone does not pick up sound. The operator can choose from 5 exclusion zone settings – each has a different range and eliminates unwanted sounds sent to the loudspeakers to a different degree. These solutions also allow a priority zone to be created, which defines where the most important speaker in the room is located. The system will then favour the presenter’s voice, raising the level whenever they speak.

Microphones – microphones are clearly at the forefront of Sennheiser’s product range. You will find a wide variety of transmitters, including table, handheld and in-ear models, both wired and wireless. For corporate clients, we recommend table-mounted conference microphones. These devices can feature, among other things, a dedicated button to start and stop voice transmission, a Priority button that switches off all active conference units nearby, and status indicator rings. Thanks to interchangeable power packs (in selected products), the devices can operate for up to 20 hours without a break.

Head-worn microphone sets – also worth considering are sets with omnidirectional microphones, fitted with 3-pin connectors that allow them to be connected to bodypack transmitters and condenser microphones. These devices are ideal for meetings of local and national government bodies, as well as business conferences. They are very lightweight and can be adjusted to fit each delegate’s head.

Central units – the central unit is the heart of a discussion system. Sennheiser devices are easy to configure: all you need to edit the parameters is a desktop computer or laptop with dedicated software. In addition – and this is particularly important for clients organising conferences with large numbers of delegates – selected Sennheiser central units can be expanded to as many as 400 units. This makes it possible to build extensive discussion systems covering several hundred seats.

Discussion management software – Conference Manager, the software dedicated to the ADN conference system, gives you full control over the course of a discussion. Its simple, intuitive interface gives the operator access to functions such as setting the seating plan, managing volume and selecting the conference mode.
