AV systems for the police, armed forces and fire service

AV for uniformed services

PROAV designs and deploys audiovisual systems for the uniformed services: sound systems and projection in briefing rooms, training rooms and press conference rooms, discussion systems for meetings, video walls and control rooms, video conferencing and centralised control. We have deployed systems for regional police units, the National Police Headquarters (KGP), the Internal Security Agency (ABW) and the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau (CBA), among others.

What your organisation gains by choosing PROAV

A room ready in moments. Projection, the sound system and video conferencing are started from a single panel – even when a meeting has to begin immediately.

A shared operational picture. The video wall brings together data, maps and video from multiple sources, and the operator decides on their layout.

Meetings run in proper order. The discussion system lets the chair give the floor, control the microphones and display voting results.

One system instead of many devices. We integrate the solutions with each other and with building automation, in configurations tailored to the unit and the installation site.

AV systems for the uniformed services – what do they include?

In each unit we combine zoned sound systems for briefing rooms and press rooms, projection, discussion systems, video conferencing, video walls and control rooms, Digital Signage screens with announcements throughout the building, and centralised control. The final scope depends on the unit's needs and on the size and acoustics of the rooms.

Uniformed services

Solutions used:

Multimedia for police units
AV technologies for the police

Briefing, training and press conference rooms

We design the sound system for a briefing room or press room in separate zones, each with independent control. Handheld microphones – wired and wireless – give speakers freedom of movement.

We integrate the sound system with projection and video conferencing: when the display is switched on for a video call, the loudspeakers throughout the room switch on automatically.

Discussion system for meetings

A discussion system lets the chairperson give the floor, switch microphones on and off, and display voting results on large-format displays.

Example: in the session chamber of the National Council of the Judiciary, a Televic system operates with chairperson units and 28 delegate units, RFID identification and meeting management software. See the project.

Video wall for coordinating operations

The video wall brings together data, maps and video from multiple sources, and the operator decides what is displayed and in what layout – also in real time.

Example: in the office of the air carrier Smart Jet, a 2×2 video wall shows the position of the entire fleet, updated live and legible from anywhere in the room. See the project.

Room control from a single panel

A centralised control system links audio-video equipment with building automation. Video conferencing, presentations, blinds or air conditioning are started from a single panel – without logging into multiple interfaces.

This solution is particularly useful when an online meeting or the presentation of an operational plan has to start immediately.

Control room

In a control room, the operator analyses and compares real-time data from external sources together with camera feeds, making it possible to follow operations as they unfold and to supervise sites.

We describe how we select displays, processors and operator workstations on our control room page.

Frequently asked questions about AV systems for the uniformed services

Click a question to see the answer.

How should a briefing room or press room be equipped with sound?

In zones, with independent control in each zone and handheld microphones that give speakers freedom of movement. We integrate the sound system with projection and video conferencing.

Does a discussion system work well for meetings?

Yes. It lets the chair give the floor, control the microphones, hold votes and display the results on screens – as in the session chamber of the National Council of the Judiciary.

What is the difference between a video wall and a control room?

A video wall is a shared screen that brings together data from multiple sources. A control room is an entire room with displays, processors and operator workstations, prepared for continuous monitoring.

Can the room be operated without knowing the equipment?

Yes. Centralised control makes all functions available on a single panel – from video conferencing to blinds and air conditioning.

Which units has PROAV deployed AV systems for?

Among others, regional police units, the National Police Headquarters (KGP), the Internal Security Agency (ABW) and the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau (CBA).

What we agree with the client before deployment

What are the rooms used for? Briefings, training, press conferences, meetings or continuous monitoring.

What are the acoustic and installation conditions? Size, acoustics and existing cabling affect the choice of equipment.

Where should the images come from? The systems, cameras and locations that need to be connected.

What are the security requirements? They determine the choice of equipment and how remote connections are made.

For the technical team: what we pay attention to

  • Zoned sound systems, wired and wireless handheld microphones
  • Discussion systems with voting and results display
  • Video walls, processors, camera feeds, operator workstations
  • Centralised control integrated with building automation
