Digital Signage – advertising and information screens for business

Digital Signage is a network of information and advertising screens whose content is changed remotely from a single piece of software. Screens in reception, advertising displays in a shop or a wayfinding system guiding visitors to tenants’ offices only work well when content is easy to change and the screens run reliably for many hours a day. PROAV designs and deploys Digital Signage systems as a whole: displays or LED screens, media players, content management software and installation. We match the displays to their location and operating hours, and the platform to who will be changing the messages and how often. In our projects we use solutions from Samsung, LG, NEC, Sony, Vestel and BrightSign, as well as the Eveo, MagicINFO, Wave and Samsung VXT platforms. Your organisation gains a communication channel that one employee manages remotely across all screens. Planning information screens? What your organisation gains by choosing PROAV

Screens and software as one system. We select the displays, mounts, media players and platform together, so that one person can manage everything from a single workstation.

Installation tailored to the interior. In renovated interiors we start the design with the architecture – for the ticketing area at Zachęta we chose narrow-bezel devices with an understated design.

Deployment and team support. We configure content templates, train the people who manage the messages and provide service for the screens.

Digital Signage – what is it and how does it work?

It is a network of screens on which content – graphics, videos, messages and data – is displayed according to a schedule set in central software. The operator prepares content in templates that follow the brand identity and publishes it to selected screens or selected locations.

Digital Signage systems

Used in projects:

Industries:

Digital Signage video wall in a clothing store window advertising a collection
2x2 video wall of displays showing a mountain landscape – Digital Signage content in an indoor space

Digital Signage software – on-brand content

Digital Signage platforms offer templates in which the marketing or internal communications team swaps text, graphics and videos without needing design tools. Brand identity elements can be locked against editing.

Screens can also display real-time data – KPIs, exchange rates, the weather or information from company systems.

Digital Signage in cultural institutions

In the ticket and information area of the Zachęta National Gallery of Art we designed and deployed two video walls built from LG displays, together with content management software. Information about exhibitions and tickets is legible from more than ten metres away.

The gallery team arranges and changes the messages on its own, without involving the supplier.

Information screens and wayfinding in buildings

At the Pomeranian Science and Technology Park, portrait displays on every floor show a list of companies and where their offices are located. The entire system is managed remotely by one employee.

We selected displays designed for many hours of daily operation, mounts for portrait installation and a platform that allows all screens to be managed from a single workstation.

Advertising displays in retail and services

In shops, showrooms and restaurants, screens present the offer, promotions and menus. Content can change according to the time of day, location or campaign.

For installations like these we select displays with the right brightness – including for shop windows and sunlit locations – and plan for continuous operation and remote monitoring of screen status.

Operational data on a video wall

At the Smart Jet headquarters, a video wall with a content management system displays a map showing the position of the entire fleet, updated in real time, and accepts images from several sources.

When screens need to present data from multiple systems and respond to events, we design the solution as a control room.

What is Digital Signage?

It is a network of screens – displays, video walls or LED screens – on which graphics, videos, messages and data are shown according to a schedule set in central software. Content is prepared in templates that follow the brand identity and published to selected screens or selected locations.

Which Digital Signage software do you use?

In PROAV projects we work with the Eveo, Samsung MagicINFO, Wave and Samsung VXT platforms and with BrightSign media players. We choose the platform based on the number of screens and locations, and on who will be changing the content and how often.

Can screens in many locations be managed from one place?

Yes. A Digital Signage platform lets you publish content and check the status of all screens from a single workstation. At the Pomeranian Science and Technology Park, the entire system of screens on every floor is managed remotely by one employee.

A Digital Signage display or an ordinary TV?

For Digital Signage we use professional displays designed for 16 or 24 hours of operation a day, in landscape or portrait orientation. Shop windows and sunlit locations require higher-brightness displays. A TV is not designed for this kind of use.

Can the screens display live data?

Yes. Screens can show KPIs, exchange rates, the weather, room availability or data from company systems. At the Smart Jet headquarters, a video wall displays a map with the fleet’s positions, updated in real time.

Can our team change the content on the screens themselves?

Yes. We configure templates in which the marketing or communications team swaps text, graphics and videos without needing design tools, and we train the people who manage the messages. The Zachęta Gallery team arranges and changes the messages on its screens on its own.

Is there a charge for a Digital Signage quote?

No. An initial quote and consultation with a PROAV engineer are free of charge. To prepare a quote we need the number of screens and locations, the mounting position, the screens’ daily operating hours and information about who will manage the content.

What we agree with the client before deployment

Who will manage the content? This determines the choice of platform, templates and permissions.

How many screens, and in how many locations? Scale determines the management approach and licensing.

How many hours a day will the screens run? Continuous operation and direct sunlight call for professional displays.

What data should be displayed? Integration with calendars, company systems or external sources.

For the technical team: what we pay attention to

  • Professional displays: brightness, 24/7 or 16/7 operation, landscape or portrait orientation
  • Media players: built-in (SoC) or external, remote management
  • CMS platform: schedules, templates, permissions, screen monitoring
  • Network: communication with the server or cloud, security on the client’s network

Planning a Digital Signage system?

We deploy information and advertising screens in companies, retail and institutions. We start by establishing who will be changing the content and how often.
