GATX Rail Poland
GATX Rail Poland offers long-term leasing of railway wagons in more than 20 European countries and is one of the major companies in the Polish rail transport sector. GATX's fleet of over 26,000 freight wagons and tank cars serves companies in sectors such as fuel and construction across the European Union. In the company's new office in Tower B of The Warsaw Hub complex at Rondo Daszyńskiego, PROAV deployed, configured and commissioned an audiovisual system covering seven areas: from projection and sound to room booking and wireless presentation.
As an international corporation, the client expected extensive and reliable equipment for its conference rooms, huddle rooms, private offices and the common area with reception. At the same time, the system – made up of many solutions – had to be simple to manage, and stable wireless connectivity was a priority.
We started work as early as the partition-wall stage, so that cabling could be run before the finishes went in. Delays on the general contractor's side and the peak of the pandemic stretched the project to several months; once the building was handed over, we moved on to installing, configuring and commissioning the entire system.

Many technologies on one network. Digital Signage, interactive displays, video projection, room booking, sound, control and wireless presentation all had to work together in the office. Every device had to be configured to operate correctly within this extensive network of systems.
A room with a flexible layout. The largest conference room was designed so that a sliding partition divides it into two smaller rooms. The AV equipment therefore had to work both as one open room and as two independent rooms.
Screens hidden in the ceiling. In the conference spaces we installed Adeo Screen Inceel ceiling-recessed roll-down projection screens. The fabric retracts into a case that sits flush with the ceiling, so the screen takes up no space in the room when not in use.
Projectors matched to each room. Images are projected onto the screens by Epson EB-2250 projectors and an Optoma EH460ST projector. We also set up the projection systems to work in both layouts of the divisible room.

A zoned audio system. Audio in the large room is managed by a dbx Zone Pro 640m DSP processor, which users control from wall-mounted controllers. JBL Control 14C/T ceiling loudspeakers in the rooms and common area are powered by multi-channel Crown CSA series power amplifiers.
Microphones despite the long distance. We based the microphone system on AKG WMS470 units with handheld transmitters. The receivers are located in a technical room some distance from the meeting rooms, so we ran an antenna system to them to ensure the microphones work properly.
Reception music from a phone. Reception staff operate the Apart Audio PMR4000RmkII streaming player – with UPnP, USB and an FM/RDS tuner – from a mobile app on a phone or tablet, setting the volume and playlists. We installed the audio equipment in a rack cabinet in the server room.
Touch screens matched to each room. In the huddle rooms and private offices we installed Sony BZ35F displays with touch overlays, in 55- and 65-inch sizes to suit each room. In the room styled as a railway container – a nod to the client's industry – we installed a 75-inch SMART Board interactive display for group work.
Cable-free presentation. The client opted for stable, proven equipment that will work for many years without loss of performance. That is why we deployed the BenQ InstaShow WDC20 wireless presentation system in the conference rooms and other office spaces.

Room availability at the door. We designed the booking system around Evoko solutions. Outside each conference room we mounted an 8-inch Liso touch panel, where employees check room availability and book it for a chosen time.
Booking overview at reception. At reception we installed a 75-inch large-format Sony display, which shows, among other things, a summary of bookings and information on where the meeting rooms are located.
GATX Rail Poland employees use rooms where picture, sound and laptop presentation are ready to go without any technical preparation. The large room works as one space or as two independent rooms, and the screens and projectors retract into the ceiling when not needed.
Meetings in the huddle rooms and private offices start with sharing content via BenQ InstaShow or working on the touch screen, while the railway container-style room is used for group work at the interactive display. By choosing proven equipment, the client gained a system built for many years of operation.
Office staff manage selected parts of the system simply: room audio is controlled from wall controllers, reception music from a mobile app, and room occupancy is visible on the Liso panels and the reception display. We organised room booking in a similar way at the headquarters of Assa Abloy.
Our work covered cabling during the partition-wall construction stage and, after the building was handed over, the installation, configuration and commissioning of all equipment in the conference rooms, meeting rooms, private offices and reception.
