Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art
The Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw is one of the best-known arts universities in Poland, and many of its graduates are artists familiar from the theatre stage, radio and television. The Academy also runs artistic events abroad, including in the United States, France and South Korea. On the stage of its main theatre hall we selected, supplied and installed a large-format Adeo Screen projection screen which, together with the Academy's projector, forms a projection system for students.
The screen had to display colourful, sharp content – films, graphics and teaching materials – that would be legible even to students sitting far from the stage. We therefore began by sizing the active screen area to match the viewing distance.
When selecting screens for theatre stages, we attach equal importance to the operating conditions. Here the screen had to maintain image quality in a dark hall lit by intense directional spotlights. We also took into account that the screen would work with a projector the Academy already owned.

An image legible from every seat. The material shown – scripts, films and literature – had to be clearly visible from the whole auditorium, so choosing a screen with a large enough surface was key.
Quality under stage conditions. The screen operates in a dark room lit by directional spotlights. The projection surface had to deliver saturated colours and a sharp image despite the harsh stage lighting.
A large-format screen sized for the hall. We chose an Adeo Screen Max One with a 650 × 488 cm Vision White projection surface. It is clearly visible from every part of the hall, and the Vision White surface performs well in dark rooms with directional spotlights.
A made-to-order screen. We commissioned the screen from Adeo Screen, whose solutions we regularly use in AV installations. We chose them for their many years of experience in manufacturing video projection screens.
Working with the existing projector. We installed the screen on the stage of the main theatre hall. Together with the projector the Academy already owned, it forms a projection system for classes with students.

Students watch films, graphics and teaching materials on a 6.5-metre-wide screen that is legible from every seat in the auditorium. The image keeps its saturated colours even when the stage spotlights are on. Scripts, films and literature are presented at a scale suited to the whole audience rather than a single workstation.
The Academy kept its existing projector, and we matched the new screen to the size of the hall and the stage conditions. As a result, the Academy gained a complete projection system on its main stage without replacing the projector. We chose the projection surface with a dark hall and spotlights in mind, not a typical lecture room. The screen is a permanent feature of the main stage, ready for use during classes.
Our scope of work covered selecting the screen, supplying it and installing it on the stage. Having the screen made to order allowed us to match its size to the needs of the main hall. We have also delivered projection systems for key venues of cultural institutions in the auditorium of the POLIN Museum.
