Hotel BoniFaCio Spa & Sport Resort
Hotel BoniFaCio Spa & Sport Resort in Sochocin, 80 km from the centre of Warsaw, is a four-star leisure resort surrounded by meadows, forests and cycling routes. Guests enjoy extensive sports facilities, wellness amenities and programmes run by physiotherapists and fitness instructors. We designed a sound system for the hotel with four independently controlled zones and a separate audio zone in the spa, selected Apart Audio equipment and installed it on site.
The client wanted a functional sound system divided into four zones, with independent volume control in each and clear sound from every loudspeaker. We began the project by analysing how each of the hotel's spaces is used, so that every zone could run with its own source and volume level.
For venues with special requirements, such as hotels with an extensive wellness area, we select equipment not only for its sound but also for the conditions in which it will operate. In the spa, it was essential to use loudspeakers resistant to increased humidity and high temperatures. We planned the system electronics in a single location – a rack cabinet in the technical room.
Solutions used:
Industries:

Four independent zones. Each part of the hotel covered by the sound system was to have its own volume control and choice of audio source, so that the music in one space would not depend on the settings in another.
Clear sound throughout the building. The investor wanted clean reproduction of speech and music through every installed loudspeaker, regardless of the character and size of the room.
Resistance to spa conditions. The spa is a space with increased humidity and high temperatures. Many loudspeaker components are not designed for such conditions, so selecting devices with an appropriate ingress protection rating was a prerequisite for a durable installation.
Sound for the Spa & Wellness area. In rooms with increased humidity we used Apart Audio CMAR8T-W 8-inch two-way ceiling loudspeakers rated IP65. They are resistant to sea water, chlorinated water and high temperatures, so they deliver clean sound in demanding conditions.
Discreet loudspeakers in the other spaces. In the other rooms we installed CMX20DT frameless installation loudspeakers from the CM Design series, which reproduce both speech and music well. The Apart-Quick Fit mounting system allowed the loudspeaker cables to be connected quickly and securely.
Power for every line. The loudspeakers are powered by an Apart Audio REVAMP4120T four-channel power amplifier, delivering 120 W per channel.

The matrix at the heart of the system. At the heart of the sound system is an Apart Audio ZONE4 four-zone mixing matrix, which we expanded with ZONE4R control panels in each zone. Staff adjust the volume and select the source directly in each space.
An independent source in every zone. We selected three PC1000RMKII universal players with a USB port and an SD card slot, and a PCR3000R player with a DAB/FM tuner and Bluetooth connectivity. When the CD drive is inactive, the player automatically switches to content on SD and USB media.
Electronics in one place. We mounted all control and amplification equipment in a rack cabinet in the technical room, which keeps the installation tidy and makes it easier to operate.
The hotel has a sound system that adapts to the way each space is used. In each of the four zones, staff independently choose the music source and set the volume, and guests hear clear, even sound whatever the character of the room. The ZONE4R panels allow settings to be changed directly in the zone, without going into the technical room. The frameless loudspeakers in the other rooms are discreet within the hotel interiors and reproduce both speech and music well.
The IP65-rated loudspeakers operate in the spa despite the humidity and high temperatures, reducing the risk of failures and equipment replacement costs. Gathering the electronics in a single rack cabinet simplifies technical maintenance. The players switch from CD to SD and USB media by themselves, so music playback does not require constant attention from staff.
Our scope of work covered dividing the building into zones, selecting the loudspeakers and electronics, and installing the entire system. We selected each device both for its sound and for the conditions in which it would operate. We also delivered a zoned sound system with independent control in the banquet hall of the Hotel Mercure in Mrągowo.
