Narodowa Galeria Sztuki Zachęta
The Zachęta National Gallery of Art is one of the most popular venues on Warsaw's cultural map. Promoting contemporary art, the gallery organises exhibitions, workshops and themed events, both on site and online. In the newly refurbished ticket and information area, we designed and deployed a Digital Signage system: two video walls built from LG displays, together with content management software. Find out more about planning systems like this in our guide to Digital Signage in the workplace.
The gallery was looking for a new way to communicate with visitors: information about its programme, the layout of the galleries, special offers and ticket prices had to be visible from more than ten metres away, and the gallery team had to be able to arrange and change the messages themselves.
In the refurbished interiors of a cultural institution, we start the project with the architecture. The minimalist décor and the arched vault of the ticket area called for equipment with an understated design and the narrowest possible bezels.
Solutions used:

Industries:

Messages visible from a distance. Content on the screens had to be legible to visitors entering the ticket area from more than ten metres away.
Simple content management. The client wanted to be able to control the content layout, edit simple graphic templates and combine graphics, videos and text, as well as connectors that make data transfer easy.
Consistency with the architecture. All the equipment had to form a harmonious whole with the refurbished interior and its distinctive vault.
Two video walls by the column. We installed four bezel-less 55-inch LG 55VM5E displays in two 2 × 1 sets. We positioned the screens on either side of the column in the centre of the ticket area, so they can be seen from different directions.
A bright image and a minimal bezel. Brightness of 500 cd/m² keeps messages legible in the bright interior, while the 0.9 mm bezel and understated design mean the screens enhance the prestigious character of the space.

Custom-made mounts. We installed the displays on Edbak VWM2157 wall mounts with precise adjustment, which allows the screens to be aligned quickly without risk of damaging the panels.
Installation despite a window recess. Normally the structure sits flat against the wall, but here a window recess made that impossible. Thanks to their high rigidity, the Edbak mounts hold the screens securely despite the lack of support.
Software without additional media players. To display and manage content we used LG SuperSign software. It does not require external media players, and a lifetime licence eliminates subscription fees.
Scheduling and content layouts. The gallery team uploads audio and video files in a variety of formats and displays them in different layouts on the screens, according to a pre-set schedule.

As soon as they enter the ticket area, gallery visitors can see up-to-date information about exhibitions, workshops and ticket prices. The screens are legible from more than ten metres away and visible from different parts of the ticket area. The two video walls on either side of the column make it possible to show different messages at the same time, such as the workshop programme and ticket information.
The gallery team prepares and schedules messages themselves, with no additional licence costs, and the LG SuperSign scheduler allows content to be prepared in advance, for example for the next exhibition. With no external media players, installation and operation are simpler. Narrow bezels and tailored mounting make the screens part of the refurbished interior rather than an add-on to it.
We designed the screen layout, selected the displays, mounts and software, and then installed the system. The precise adjustment of the mounts allowed us to align the screens accurately despite the unusual mounting location in the window recess. We also deploy projection systems in cultural institutions – one example is Akademia Teatralna in Warsaw.

We design visual communication for cultural institutions – we will analyse the layout of the space and how your messages are prepared, and then prepare a quote tailored to the interior.
