Siemens
Siemens is a global technology company which in Poland operates as a service provider, integrator and manufacturer of systems for the automotive, pharmaceutical and wind energy industries, among others. At one of the company’s offices, whose location the client has asked us not to disclose, three new meeting rooms were created with bespoke built-in furniture. PROAV designed and installed the video conferencing and sound systems in these rooms, and in the largest room built an LED screen more than 3 metres wide into the furniture.
Each room was to have large-format displays connected to audio and video conferencing equipment, blending in visually with the new fit-out. That is why we worked with the design office and the other interior fit-out contractors throughout the project.
The client also wanted to solve the problem of the overly dark image from the existing projector. What was needed was a bright display to which a computer could be connected via an HDMI cable or wirelessly, together with conferencing equipment that would work with any laptop.

A bright image in a room with plenty of light. The main room needed a display that would replace the overly dark projector and remain legible in strong daylight.
Meetings from any computer. Employees and guests were to join video conferences from their own laptops, without time-consuming equipment checks before every meeting.
Rooms of different sizes. In addition to the large room, the project covered a smaller conference room with a display and a wireless presentation system, as well as an office next to reception, where a simple and effective video conferencing kit was all that was needed.
Technology matched to the room’s conditions. Instead of a new projector, we chose a PROAV LED P1.6 screen more than 3 metres wide, with a 16:9 aspect ratio and Full HD resolution. The screen delivers sufficient image brightness even in strong daylight.
A surface with no visible seams. Together with the design office and the joinery contractor, we built the screen into the furniture wall so that no seams are visible. The screen has become the centrepiece of the room, drawing the attention of the company’s staff and guests.

Microphones and loudspeakers in a single bar. Above the screen we installed a Nureva HDL300 audio conferencing system. Its built-in loudspeakers deliver clear sound even at the far end of the room, while the microphones pick up the voices of all meeting participants. The installation did not require running lots of cables.
The meeting starts when the transmitter is plugged in. The Barco ClickShare CX50 system connects a participant’s laptop to the room’s screen, camera and audio. A remote meeting begins as soon as the ClickShare transmitter is plugged into the computer or an HDMI cable is connected to the table connection box.
The same way of operating in the smaller room. In the smaller conference room we installed an 86-inch LG display, a Poly video conferencing system and a Barco ClickShare wireless presentation system. We configured the equipment so that any employee can join a meeting quickly without checking settings.
Video conferencing in the office. In the office next to reception we used a Poly Studio USB. Its wide-angle camera with automatic face framing works well in small rooms and is compatible with any computer.

The large room now has a bright image regardless of lighting conditions, and the LED screen, built in with no visible seams, is consistent with the interior design. Employees start remote meetings from their own laptops, using the ClickShare transmitter or the table connection box. The Nureva bar above the screen ensures that remote participants can clearly hear people sitting anywhere around the table.
In all three rooms we matched the equipment to the size of the room while keeping a similar way of operating. As a result, anyone who uses the large room can just as easily run a meeting in the smaller room or the office, and short remote calls do not require booking the largest room.
We have been designing meeting rooms with bespoke built-in furniture for years, and we know that the result depends on agreeing mounting locations early with the design office and the joinery contractor. That way the equipment becomes part of the interior rather than something added after the fit-out is finished. We also built an LED screen into a timber wall structure in the lobby of the Expondo office in Warsaw.
