Crown Audio (part of the Harman Group) – a company with a tradition of almost 70 years – is today one of the largest suppliers of professional sound system equipment. The Crown brand was founded in the USA, and its history goes back as far as 1975. Over the years it has built a reputation as a company that is not only dependable but also innovative. It became famous worldwide for inventing the first tape recorder equipped with a power amplifier.
The manufacturer's portfolio includes what are probably the best amplifiers and power amplifiers on the market. These devices are used in professional sound systems made up of many zones or rooms. They process and amplify the signals coming from electroacoustic equipment, so that music and voice announcements delivered through the loudspeakers sound crystal clear, uninterrupted and loud.
Most Crown Audio power amplifiers can be bridged. You can combine the capacity of two such devices to obtain more power and mono sound with much better parameters.
Using this brand's equipment, we can configure a sound system of practically any size. The power amplifiers are available in 2-, 4-, 6- and 8-channel versions. Even the most powerful models take up very little space in a rack cabinet (up to 2U). We have deployed Crown equipment many times as part of our AV projects. The brand's products can be found, for example, in the offices of Fracthon, GATX Rail Poland and PSI Pharma.
Crown Audio power amplifiers come with modern features such as load monitoring, GPIO contact programming, fault reporting, input compressors and delay lines for inputs and outputs. On top of this there are revolutionary protection circuits, including protection against short circuits, load mismatch and clipping. The devices also feature cooling systems that automatically direct air to the most heavily loaded components.
A major advantage of the newer Crown amplifier series is their simplified design. Thanks to DriveCore technology, the manufacturer has reduced the number of components in the housing. This makes the latest products more reliable and much easier to maintain and, if necessary, to service.

Crown power amplifiers are equipment that performs superbly in complex audio processing systems. In our project for Fracthon, they were combined with a BSS Blu-50 power processor and JBL loudspeakers. The amplifiers significantly boost the sound power, so even in large rooms music and voice announcements are loud and clear. In addition, with an audio player in place, our client can play any audio track from a computer.
Crown CDi series products have USB ports that allow you to connect a computer running HiQnet System Architect software. These devices can be controlled, monitored and configured over a standard TCP/IP network. Interactive LCD panels with a built-in menu give you access to configuration within the scope of each model’s features.
Crown DCi power amplifiers feature guaranteed minimum power, so you can be sure that their output will never fall below the values declared by the manufacturer. This feature is not yet standard, so it is worth taking into account when buying a device – especially for a professional installation. This series also offers an additional AUX connector for integration with third-party control systems.
