Crestron

Control systems such as Crestron bring projectors, screens, sound systems, video conferencing, lighting and blinds together into a single interface. Well-designed control means a room can be run at the touch of a button; poorly designed control means nobody uses it. At PROAV we design control as part of the complete AV system: we start with how the room will be used, and only then select the processor, panels and software.

Organisations looking for Crestron solutions usually have one of two goals: to make conference rooms simpler to use, or to bring many rooms in a building under centralised control.

In both cases we help define what needs to be controlled, by whom and in which scenarios – and that is what determines the choice of system.

Control in PROAV projects

An office with many technologies. In the Gatx Rail Poland office, Digital Signage, wireless presentation, room booking and the sound system all work together on one network, and the screens and projectors retract into the ceiling when not in use.

Boardroom and conference rooms. At the FRACTHON headquarters, the meeting rooms, offices, blinds and lighting are all run by one control system – using portable touch panels, the operator controls the projector, screen, blinds and lighting.

An entire headquarters in one system. In the Assa Abloy office, the conference rooms, ceiling-integrated projection, sound system and room booking form a single, coherent audiovisual system.

What a control project covers

Room usage scenarios. We establish how the room should behave in presentation, video conferencing, training or event mode – and assign each mode a single action on the panel.

Integrating equipment from different manufacturers. Control covers AV equipment, but also lighting, blinds and air conditioning where the building design provides for it. We agree the scope with the architect and the installation contractor.

Managing multiple rooms. In larger buildings we plan centralised monitoring, which allows the technical team to check the status of equipment and respond before a user reports a problem.

Solutions we recommend today

Extron control and signal distribution. For conference rooms, auditoriums and multi-room buildings we recommend Extron control and signal distribution systems.

Kramer solutions. Where flexible presentation and control are needed in smaller rooms, we use Kramer solutions.

Panels and room booking. We combine control with room booking panels by the door, so that users can see whether a room is available and start their meeting straight away.

How we select a control system

Meeting room. A simple panel with a few scenarios: presentation, video conferencing, room off.

Boardroom and auditorium. A touch panel, lighting and blind control, management of multiple sources and screens, and integration with the discussion system.

Entire building. Centralised monitoring of rooms, on/off schedules for equipment, and equipment status reporting. Find out more: Room control systems.

Want to make your conference rooms easier to use?
We will map out how your rooms are used and propose a control system that brings all the devices together into one simple interface. We start every project with a site survey.
