Expondo Zielona Góra
Zielona Góra is home to the headquarters of Expondo, a company that manufactures and distributes niche products for industry, medicine, construction, gardening and the automotive sector. The head office combines conference rooms, a co-working area and a prestigious lobby, and the team works daily with branches in Berlin and Warsaw. Meeting and video conferencing rooms in corporate offices are an area PROAV has worked in for years, so at Expondo's headquarters we delivered a complete AV system: projection, video conferencing, room sound systems and an LED screen in the lobby.
The client expected presentations to be displayed in HD on a large screen and staff to join video conferences without carrying laptops between rooms. Two conference rooms are separated by a movable wall, so the system had to work in two layouts: as separate rooms and as one combined space.
We planned the solution by analysing how the rooms are used and how the company's offices communicate with each other. The project was to be complemented by a video conferencing hub in the co-working area, connecting the Zielona Góra team with staff in Berlin and Warsaw. The lobby – the first space guests see – needed a display that would catch the eye from the entrance.

Two layouts in one space. When the movable wall is opened, the two rooms become one. The system therefore had to support both two independent meetings and a single event with the image visible throughout the room.
Video conferencing without extra equipment. Staff were to start remote meetings directly in the room, without bringing their own computer or connecting cameras and microphones before every call.
Communication with branches. The Zielona Góra office was to gain a place for quick calls with the teams in Berlin and Warsaw, available outside the bookable rooms as well.
A clear image in daylight. In the conference rooms we installed Optoma WU416 projectors with a brightness of 4200 ANSI lumens, which deliver clear presentations regardless of lighting conditions.
One connection point for many devices. We connected the projectors to Purelink MediaHUB table connectivity boxes, which also act as scalers. HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA, audio and USB inputs and power sockets allow different sources to be connected and the system to be extended with further devices.

Remote meetings from the table. We built the video conferencing system around a Poly Trio 8800 conference phone with the Visual+ module, so calls start in the room without any additional equipment. Clear sound in the room's acoustic conditions is provided by APart Audio ceiling installation speakers.
Flexible image configuration. In the divisible room, we routed all video signals to a Purelink matrix switcher. The image from the table connectivity box or from the video conference can be shown on both projectors in any part of the room, regardless of the position of the movable wall.
A station for calls with branches. In the co-working area we set up a communication point with a Poly RealPresence Group 310 system, an EagleEye Acoustic camera and a 75-inch Toshiba monitor. Staff connect with the offices in Berlin and Warsaw without having to arrange a meeting in a conference room.
Calls without disturbing others. Above the station we installed a Panphonics directional ceiling speaker, which directs sound at the call participants. Other people working in the same space do not hear the video conference.

The headquarters' calling card. In the lobby we installed an LED screen 4 metres wide with a 2.5 mm pixel pitch. The image is bright and sharp, and the large screen area attracts the attention of guests visiting the company's headquarters.
A backdrop for the product display. The screen forms the backdrop to the area where Expondo presents its products. Together, the screen and the display create a coherent space that guests see as soon as they enter the building.
The meeting host connects a laptop to a single connection point in the table and the image appears on the projector without anyone having to hunt for adapters. Headquarters staff start presentations and video conferences directly in the rooms, without carrying laptops around or connecting additional devices. The divisible room works just as smoothly as one large space as it does as two independent rooms.
For the team responsible for running the office, what matters is that all image sources in the divisible room go to a single matrix switcher. Changing the room layout requires no re-patching of cables or reconfiguration of devices, and the table connectivity boxes allow the system to be extended with further sources and accessories in the future.
The station in the co-working area enables quick calls with the branches in Berlin and Warsaw, and the directional speaker means they can be held without disturbing others. The LED screen in the lobby strengthens the company's image with guests and displays content visible from the whole entrance area.
The Zielona Góra deployment led to a further commission: we equipped the company's office in the capital on the same principles, as described in the Expondo Warsaw project. As a result, teams at both locations use consistent solutions and connect with each other without additional configuration.
