Krajowa Szkoła Skarbowości Otwock
The Otwock branch of Krajowa Szkoła Skarbowości (the National School of Revenue Administration) trains staff for public service in tax and customs administration and works with the European Commission on developing and implementing EU training standards. The site has extensive technical and sports facilities, and teaching takes place, among other places, in the main lecture hall. For this hall PROAV supplied, installed and commissioned two independent video walls made of LG displays with Key Digital content control, and after the room was refurbished we reinstalled and extended the system.
Classes in the lecture hall were to be held in two different room layouts, so the client needed two video walls operating independently of each other. The screens had to have the size, brightness and resolution to let people read teaching materials comfortably, and to display content from different devices.
PROAV approached the project with many years of operation in an academic setting in mind: what mattered was resistance to damage, easy service access to the displays and scope for expansion. When the room was refurbished during the project, we adjusted the work schedule to the investor’s needs.

An image legible from a long distance. Detailed teaching content had to be visible even from the back of the lecture hall, which required a large screen area, high brightness and high resolution.
Multiple signal sources. Lecturers needed to display material from different devices, not just one computer.
Two independent room layouts. The room had to allow two different lectures to be held at the same time, each with its own screen. The system also had to withstand the kind of damage to be expected in an intensively used teaching room.
A uniform image with no visible joins. In the first stage we installed a video wall of 9 seamless 49-inch LG displays in a 3x3 layout. A brightness of 450 cd/m2 allows colourful content to be shown in high resolution, and bezel-to-bezel frames 3.5 mm wide make the structure look like a single whole.
A structure designed for easy servicing. We mounted the displays on Edbak VWPOP65-L pop-out mounts designed for video walls. Tool-free micro-adjustment allows the screens to be aligned precisely without risk of damaging the panel, and the push-to-open mechanism gives quick service access to each display.

Source switching and screen splitting. For content management we used a Key Digital KD-MLV4x2Pro multi-view matrix. It switches video sources, divides the video wall into sections of different sizes and allows any image layout to be set on each of them.
Freedom in running classes. The lecturer can show one presentation across the entire wall or display images from several sources side by side, depending on how the class unfolds.
Removal and reinstallation during refurbishment. When the lecture hall was being refurbished, at the client’s request we dismantled the video wall and secured the displays and mounts for the duration of the works. In the final stage we reinstalled the wall and extended it by 7 displays to a 4x4 layout.
Two rooms with their own video systems. To allow two different lectures to run simultaneously, we installed an additional video wall of displays in a 3x3 layout. When the room is divided, each of the two parts has its own independent video system.

Krajowa Szkoła Skarbowości runs classes on large, bright screens that are legible even from the back of the room. The hall can be used as one large space or divided into two parts in which different lectures take place in parallel. Dividing the room does not require moving any equipment, because each part has its own video wall.
The multi-view matrix gives lecturers freedom in choosing sources and image layouts, and the pop-out mounts shorten access to each display during service work. The structure prepared in the first stage made it possible to extend the wall without replacing the displays already installed.
PROAV’s scope of work covered the supply, installation and commissioning of the video walls, dismantling and securing the equipment during the refurbishment, reinstallation and extension of the system. We have also deployed an LG video wall in the boardroom of the Marshal’s Office of the Małopolska Region. PROAV plans service access to video walls at the installation stage, with many years of operation in mind.
